The Nuke Performance CFC Unit, specially developed for brushless fuel pumps such as the Protec Cobra Compact and DeatschWerks DW440 Brushless, combines an integrated fuel surge tank and fuel pump hanger in one compact solution.
The Nuke Performance CFC Unit eliminates the need for an external surge tank, making it an ideal solution for high-performance fuel-injected applications using an aftermarket fuel cell. Combined with variable-speed control of compatible brushless fuel pumps, pump output can be matched to engine demand, reducing unnecessary fuel circulation, electrical load, and heat generation.

The integrated 2.0-liter surge tank provides a reliable fuel supply to the high-pressure pumps and helps prevent fuel starvation during demanding motorsport use. The brushless CFC Unit also allows the installation of Venturi pickup points, helping keep the integrated surge tank supplied with fuel even at very low fuel levels.

The Nuke Performance CFC Unit replaces the fill plate on fuel cells using the standardized 6 x 10" 24-bolt pattern found on fuel cells from manufacturers such as ATL, Premier, Pyrotect, Fuel Safe, Radium, and others. Designed for high-performance motorsport applications where safety, reliability, and efficiency are essential, the CFC Unit integrates the surge tank and high-pressure fuel pumps directly into the fuel cell, eliminating the need for a space-consuming external surge tank.

The Nuke Performance CFC Unit for brushless fuel pumps features an integrated fuel surge tank designed to accommodate one or two high-pressure brushless fuel pumps. The integrated surge tank allows the use of a smaller lift pump, while the high-pressure brushless pumps provide efficient fuel delivery with reduced electrical load and heat generation. When combined with variable pump speed control, fuel flow can be matched to engine demand, reducing unnecessary fuel circulation, power consumption, and heat transfer to the fuel.

The 6-pin electrical connector supports single or dual high-pressure brushless fuel pump configurations, while three additional electrical connectors are provided for the lift pump. This allows the CFC Unit to accommodate a wide range of fuel pump configurations, including the use of a brushless pump as the lift pump. The CFC Unit is available together with a range of compatible brushless fuel pumps that fit directly without modification.

The Nuke Performance CFC Unit features a billet fuel pump hanger designed for single or dual high-pressure brushless fuel pumps from Protec and DeatschWerks. Since each brushless fuel pump requires three electrical connections to its external controller, the CFC Unit is equipped with a 6-pin bulkhead connector, providing a clean and service-friendly installation for up to two pumps within the integrated surge tank. With fuel pump options covering applications from approximately 200 to 2,500 horsepower, the integrated 2.0-liter surge tank ensures a consistent fuel supply to the high-pressure pumps and helps prevent fuel starvation even under demanding driving conditions.

The CFC Unit for brushless fuel pumps is developed for use with a wide range of brushless fuel pumps. Combined with the Nuke Performance fuel pump mounting kits, it provides a simple and reliable way to build a high-performance fuel system. All components are designed for long-term compatibility with ethanol and other common racing fuels. The CFC Unit can also accommodate common 39 mm fuel pumps, but for traditional brushed fuel pumps, we recommend our other CFC Unit versions with dedicated 6 mm electrical bulkhead connectors for the high-pressure pumps.
How to mount fuel pumps in the Nuke Performance high-profile CFC Unit for brushless fuel pumps?
The fuel pump mounted in the fuel cell acts as a lift pump, keeping the oversized 2.0-liter (0.53-gallon) integrated surge tank supplied with fuel. This ensures a consistent fuel supply to the high-pressure brushless pumps and helps minimize the risk of fuel starvation, even under demanding driving conditions.
The brushless CFC Unit includes everything required to install your selected fuel pumps, but we recommend adding one of our fuel pump mounting kits for the best possible installation. Billet aluminum fuel pump brackets keep all pumps securely mounted inside the CFC Unit.

Which brands and what type of fuel cells can be used with the high-profile version of the CFC Unit from Nuke Performance?
The high-profile CFC Unit is based on our low-profile version but features a more compact mounting footprint, allowing it to fit directly into popular fuel cells with smaller access openings, including ATL Saver Cell and Fuel Safe fuel cells, without requiring any modifications.
Another advantage of the high-profile design is the reduced minimum mounting depth of only 197 mm (7.75"), compared to 219 mm (8.62") for the low-profile version. This makes it ideal for smaller and shallower fuel cells while maintaining the same functionality and performance as the low-profile CFC Unit, with only a minor increase in weight.

Upgrading from a stock fuel tank to an aftermarket fuel cell has never been easier. Select the CFC Unit version that matches your fuel pump configuration. This version features the additional electrical connections required for brushless fuel pumps from Protec, DeatschWerks, Fuelab, and other compatible manufacturers.
The Fuel Cell Vent Kit AN-6 connects directly to the CFC Unit vent valve for easy installation.
The CFC Unit is equipped with a roll-over-protected AN-8 (3/4 UNF) vent port with an AN-6 male fitting, making it easy to connect a Nuke Performance Fuel Cell Vent Kit and route the vent line to a safe and suitable location. Vent kits are available in sizes from AN-6 to AN-12, allowing you to select the size that best suits your application. When using a vent line larger than AN-6, the fitting on the vent valve must also be replaced accordingly. The vent kit includes a 1 m (3.3 ft) nitrile fuel hose and a universal air filter that prevents debris from entering the fuel system.

The CFC Unit features an AN-10 ORB outlet and AN-8 ORB return port. The oversized, high-flow AN-10 ORB outlet combines the flow from the internal high-pressure fuel pumps into a single fuel line, minimizing the need for external hoses, fittings, and additional components. The included rollover-protected vent fitting features an AN-6 male connection and can be replaced with AN-6 to AN-10 options when required. Outlet and return fittings in AN-6, AN-8, AN-10, and AN-12 are available separately as accessories.

How to connect the fuel pumps to the electrical connectors and fuel lines?
The CFC Unit for brushless fuel pumps uses a 6-pin bulkhead connector for the high-pressure pumps mounted inside the integrated surge tank. The unit includes the bulkhead connector, terminals, and mating connectors required for a single or dual brushless fuel pump setup. Each brushless pump uses three pins to connect to its external controller, making the 6-pin connector a compact and service-friendly solution for up to two pumps.

Three additional 6 mm electrical connectors provide several options for the lift pump setup. These can support a brushless lift pump, a low-pressure lift pump, or even a dual low-pressure setup with pumps positioned in different areas of the fuel cell. The fuel lines connect using the included barb fittings, but we recommend adding one of our fuel pump mounting kits for your selected pumps. These provide a clean and service-friendly installation with reliable long-term operation, including use with ethanol and other alcohol-based fuels.
Low-profile fuel filler cap or remote fill neck for 50mm fuel fill hose?
The high-profile CFC Unit is delivered with a low-profile filler cap with integrated roll-over protection. For applications requiring a remote fuel filler, we offer remote fill neck adapters for 50–52 mm (2") fuel fill hoses. The remote fill neck mounts directly to the CFC Unit and is available in both a straight and a 60-degree angled version. The 60-degree version can be rotated between five fixed positions (5 x 72°), providing additional flexibility when routing the fuel fill hose in tight installations.
Both versions use the integrated roll-over protection mounted underneath the CFC Unit and are available separately as accessories.

Choose the right Fuel Level Sender Unit for your aftermarket fuel cell.
For most applications, an accurate fuel level sender is essential for reliable fuel level monitoring. The Nuke Performance CFC Unit is compatible with most common fuel level senders using the standard 5-bolt SAE pattern. The CFC Unit is supplied with a lightweight, low-profile block-off plate that can easily be replaced with a fuel level sender of your choice. It can also be ordered with a fuel level sender included—simply select the appropriate length when ordering.
For correct sizing, measure the depth of your fuel cell, subtract approximately 20 mm (0.78"), and select the fuel level sender length closest to this measurement.
